RYE WHISKEY

G-TOWN WINES Providing Rye whiskey which is a type of whiskey that is made primarily from rye grain. It is often referred to as the "spicier" cousin of bourbon, as rye tends to have a more assertive flavor profile than other grains used in whiskey production. Rye whiskey must be made from a mash bill that contains at least 51% rye grain, and must be aged in new, charred oak barrels for a minimum of two years.

Rye whiskey was first produced in the northeastern United States in the late 18th century, and was popular throughout the 19th century. It declined in popularity during the early 20th century due to Prohibition, but has experienced a resurgence in recent years as interest in craft and artisanal spirits has grown.

There are several different styles of rye whiskey, including American rye, Canadian rye, and European rye.
