COGNAC

G-Town Wines Providing Cognac which is a type of brandy that is produced in the Cognac region of France. It is made from white wine grapes, primarily Ugni Blanc (also known as Trebbiano), which are fermented and then distilled twice in traditional copper pot stills. The resulting spirit is then aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of two years, although many Cognacs are aged for much longer periods.

Cognac is known for its rich, complex flavors and aromas. It often exhibits notes of dried fruits, vanilla, caramel, oak, and spices. The aging process in oak barrels imparts additional flavors and helps to mellow the spirit, giving it a smooth and velvety texture.

Cognac is classified into different age categories, which determine the minimum number of years it has been aged. The age categories include VS (Very Special), which is aged for a minimum of two years, VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale), aged for a minimum of four years, and XO (Extra Old), aged for a minimum of ten years. There are also Cognacs that are aged for much longer, sometimes several decades, resulting in exceptional complexity and depth of flavor.
